The Center for Women in Educational Leadership was established in 1979 in the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill's School of Education under a grant from the Ford Foundation. One of four such centers funded by Ford, it was founded to promote the identification, advancement, and professional development of women administrators. The center pursued its goals through surveys, workshops, and seminars. Records of the Center for Women in Educational Leadership consist of a report and addendum, prepared in 1981 for submission to the Ford Foundation, of the center's activities for 1979-1980.
